- 319 Pere Megret, Abbeville. 20 minutes from Lafayette. A full
service seafood restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere in an old bank
building. Especially known for its raw oysters and fried seafood.

| Cafe Des Amis - 140 E. Bridge
St., Breaux Bridge. Coffeehouse and bistro. Delicious home cooked
meals. French Acadian cuisine. Local artists' work, memorabilia
and antiques in a "museum-like" cafe. Zydeco brunch
on Saturday mornings features live Zydeco band and a menu featuring
Cajun/Creole favorites such as beignets, boudin, etc. A must

| Catahoula's -
In historic Grand Coteau. Named for the Catahoula hound, Louisiana's
official state dog. And located in a renovated general store.
If you're in Grand Coteau for lunch, stop at the Kitchen Shop
nearby for great quiche and desserts. Both are located on the
main street going into town, across from the Academy of the
Sacred Heart (183?) the oldest Catholic school for girls west
of the Mississippi River. Closed Monday. Call for reservations.

| Mulate's Cajun Restaurant
- 325 Mills Avenue, Breaux Bridge. Located 15-20 minutes from
Lafayette, on Hwy 94, or one mile from I-10. Cajun food, music
and dancing. The best known Cajun restaurant and dance hall,
but often invaded by busloads of tourists. The zydeco salad,
frog legs and soft-shell crab are great. 7am-10:30pm daily.

| Nash's Restaurant
- 101 E. 2nd St., Broussard. Follow Pinhook Rd. all the way
into Broussard. Nash's is located in an old Victorian mansion
that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Very good Italian food, seafood, and steaks, in an elegant but
relaxed atmosphere. Tuesday-Friday, 11 am -10 pm. Sunday Brunch
11am - 3 pm. 839-9333. |

- 209 E. St. Peter St., Carencro. A wonderful seafood restaurant
with rustic décor. Great gumbo and dessert. Open seven

atmosphere. Traditional and progressive Cajun, seafood, and
wild game specialties. Fun for local interest. Live Cajun music
