Anne Laughlin, public relations practitioner and former UL Lafayette student, writes:

Philosophy is important.  It has been important throughout history and is still important today.  In my life, it is important to my job.

I am in advertising-advertising, public relations and marketing to be more precise.   And one of philosophy's bedrock principles-logic-must be present in every ad I write, press release I send out and marketing plan I develop.

Thankfully, I studied philosophy.

Even though philosophy was not my major, I went out of my way to take philosophy classes because I was passionate about the subject.  As it turns out, that passion helped to equip me for my career.
