Concentration Areas

The computer science curriculum is designed to provide a strong background in software development and prepare students for life-long learning. Concentrations allow students the opportunity to select a group of related courses that are of special interest to them either as a career goal or as a prelude to graduate studies. The concentrations described below represent areas of specialization identified by the Computer Science Department faculty as particularly relevant to current trends in research and applications development in the field of computer science.

This concentration deals with subjects related to artificial intelligence and human computer interaction.
The psychology and philosophy courses have been selected from topics that further the understanding of the human mind and acquisition of knowledge.The English courses focus on issues of language comprehension that are essential to the field of natural language understanding.
Application areas for this concentration include business, medicine, investment, banking, entertainment, etc.

This concentration provides students with a strong background in computer engineering.
Application areas for this concentration include telecommunications software development, operating systems, and development of CAD tools.
