| A group of UL Lafayette students received recognition for turning a service-learning grant from the UL System into some “green.” Environmentally-conscious students transformed a school bus into a mobile classroom. The RUN (Resourceful University Network) bus is designed to take discussions about clean energy, energy-efficient building strategies and community-based food production on the road. A Helping Hand
|
|
Some disadvantaged students studying science, technology, engineering, mathematics and teacher preparation at UL Lafayette are getting some help. The university’s Student Support Services program will receive federal funds totaling just more than $5 million in five years. The money will help SSS provide services to additonal low-income, first-generation and disabled students. |

Matt Desormeaux likes a challenge.
The starting fullback for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns® completed his academic requirements for a mathematics degree in four years – not always the norm for student-athletes competing in the top level of collegiate sports.
Now, he'll work on his master's degree while he completes his last season of eligibility on the football field.
The New Iberia native told the The Daily Iberian that obtaining his degree in four years was always part of his plan. |
