Honorary Degree
Dr. Cindy CourvilleFormer U.S. Ambassador to the African Union Dr. Cindy Courville will receive an honorary doctorate of humanities during UL Lafayette's commencement at 9 a.m. Dec. 18. She received bachelor's and master's degrees from UL Lafayette in the 1970s. She served as the first U.S. Ambassador to the African Union from 2006 to 2008. Courville is a professor at the National Defense Intelligence College in Washington D.C.

Record Season
Cayla ChatmanAwards continue for the Ragin' Cajuns soccer team, which recorded its most successful season in school history. Two seniors and two sophomores made the All-Louisiana College Women’s Soccer team named by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association last weekend. Sophomore forward Cayla Chatman made the first team selection. Her teammates, seniors Chelsea Balestra and Courtney Hofland and sophomore Gayla Foster, received honorable mentions.
