Business Savvy
The Princeton Review included UL Lafayette’s MBA program in its just-released 2011 edition of Best 300 Business Schools. This is the fifth year in a row that the university has earned this designation. Dr. Joby John, dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration, says the program will expand next year. An accounting concentration and an executive MBA for professionals will be added.

Highest Honor

Dr. Steve LandryDr. Steve Landry will receive the UL Lafayette Alumni Association’s highest honor during Homecoming Week. The university's first provost will be given the Outstanding Alumni Award during a reception Friday. Earlier this year, Landry announced he will retire at the end of the Fall 2010 semester. He has served as the university's vice president for Academic Affairs since 2000 and was named provost in 2008.

Members of the 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, sent best wishes to Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns via this photo taken on Oct. 13, 2010. Sgt. Shelley Landry, who submitted the picture to the UL Lafayette Athletic Network, said she and Major General Bennett Landreneau received the flag (shown) during Military Appreciation Night at Cajun Field in 2008. My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate MeThe New Yorker, the renowned highbrow magazine with a circulation of more than 1 million subscribers, recently recommended a new book written by UL Lafayette’s writer-in-residence. Kate Bernheimer’s My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me, is an anthology of 40 fairy tales.
 
Too Cool
Two Hot
The spicy combo of UL Lafayette and Tabasco® was among The Independent's "Finds" last week. The segment in the weekly paper's LivingIND section highlights items related to Louisiana and its people. The university and the maker of world-famous pepper sauce announced a "two hot" partnership earlier this year with the unveiling of two co-branded logos.

Water Ski Champs
The UL Lafayette Water Ski team took national honors last weekend in Texas. The team out-scored defending champs UL Monroe for the Division I national title. This is the fifth title for the UL Lafayette team in event history. Congrats!
