UL Lafayette Commercial
Here's a look at UL Lafayette's newest public service announcement. The 30-second spot highlights the university's ranking as a top 100 public research institution, its collaborative atmosphere and its Ragin' Cajun spirit. The PSA was produced by the Office of Communications and Marketing and is scheduled to appear during televised football games this fall.

Fitness = Improved Academics
Recent statistics from the Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning at UL Lafayette are revealing. A study of 15 school districts in Louisiana found that more than half of the school children participating have unhealthy amounts of fat. Almost one-third are classified as obese. The good news: researchers found that better fitness equaled higher scores on the LEAP assessment test. Previous studies in other states have had similar results. The Center released its findings during Student Health Day activities last Wednesday.

North American Champs
UL Lafayette's student chapter of the Society for Petroleum Engineers is ranked as one of the best in the world.

Each year, the SPE chooses one student group from each of its seven worldwide regions is designated outstanding.

UL Lafayette's chapter was named the best in North America. The student group prides itself on helping its members through student-to-student advising and a peer mentoring program.

RCAF Tour
The final stop of the 2010 Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Foundation tour is coming to the Cajundome Convention Center on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Head coaches Bob Marlin, Rickey Bustle, Stefni Lotief and Tony Robichaux will greet fans.
