Julie manages public relations, news services, licensing, and athletic promotions and marketing programs for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She develops and initiates public relations activities, including visual identity campaigns, special events, and community awareness projects. She is also responsible for oversight of media releases, broadcast promotions, videos, La Louisiane magazine and other promotional activities. Julie represents the university in community organizations and serves as a UL Lafayette spokesperson. She holds a bachelor's degree in English-Journalism from USL. | Kathleen Thames Editor |
Kathleen is editor of La Louisiane, a bi-annual, full-color magazine with a circulation of about 70,000, and "LegisLetter," a newsletter for Louisiana legislators. She is responsible for PRNS photo archives and the PRNS website; she also assists with various PRNS projects. Kathleen has worked at UL Lafayette since 1993. She is author of 100 Years, a pictorial history of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. Megan is a junior majoring in public relations. She is president of the Lafayette chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and is a member of several honor societies Megan serves in the legislative branch of UL Lafayette’s Student Government Association. Each college has elected representatives: a president and a minimum of two senators. She is SGA’s Liberal Arts president. Megan has worked part-time at Le Centre International de Lafayette. She was an intern for the Bobby Jindal Campaign for Governor and for the American Heart Association’s office in Lafayette. | Megan Barra Art Director |
Megan has served as art director of La Louisiane since its inception in 1989. A freelance designer, she is the principal of Megan Barra Graphic Design in Lafayette, La. In 2002, Megan was nominated for a Grammy Award for her design of slide guitarist and songwriter Sonny Landreth's CD, Levee Town. She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from USL. The Acadiana Arts Federation has named Barra as Art Director of the Year seven times since 1990. She has won over 100 local awards and her work has been featured in many national publications. Barra specializes in design related to the arts, music and culture, such as gallery/museum fine arts catalogs and promotional material for musicians and cultural events.
