| EVENT: 4th annual Black History Kickoff Celebration DATE: Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 TIME: 5 p.m. LOCATION: Student Union Ballroom INFORMATION: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Office of Campus Diversity will host a kickoff to Black History Month on Feb. 2. The fourth annual kickoff celebration, “Black History: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” will start at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. Former Sen. Donald Cravins Jr. will serve as guest speaker. Cravins, a former state senator, recently accepted a position with the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The kickoff will also feature music, a step performance, free food and door prizes. There is no admission to the kickoff and the community is invited.
