| EVENT: Future Teacher Day DATE: Tuesday, April 1 TIME: 8:30 a.m. LOCATION: Student Union INFORMATION: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will hold its 8th annual Future Teacher Day on April 1. High school students from across Acadiana are expected to attend in addition to State Superintendent of Education Paul G. Pastorek and Associate Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Jeanne M. Burns. The Future Teacher program encourages students statewide to enter teaching professions by providing one or more courses at the high school level, for credit. Some Acadiana schools like Acadiana High School have had the program for some time. Other schools across Acadiana are either starting or contemplating starting such a program.
