WIND ENSEMBLE PRESENTS ‘BEST’ IN HOMECOMING CONCERT

In the spirit of this year’s Homecoming theme (The Past was a Blast...The Best is Yet to Come), the Oct. 10 concert by the UL Lafayette Wind Ensemble will feature some of the best music works.

Various composers on the program have won prestigious music awards such as the Pulitzer, the Ostwald, the Sudler and even Fulbright and Kennedy Center Honors. These composers include Ron Nelson, Charles Simon Catel, David Stanhope, Walter Piston, Alfred Reed, Kenneth Alford and William Schuman.

The University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. William Hochkeppel, will also perform music from 1803 to commemorate the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Angelle Hall. Admission is free.
