What local resources are out there for victims of domestic abuse and their children? There are many local resources for victims of domestic abuse in Lafayette and the surrounding areas. All of these options aim to break the destructive cycle of abuse, and offer services to both women who are victims and children. They are all safe places to go to or call and will be able to either provide direct assistance or direct you to a closer or more appropriate service depending on your needs. The Faith House of Acadiana is a resource in Lafayette that provides shelter, food, clothing, health services, counseling, and legal assistance. Victims can stay up to 45 days, or possibly longer depending on the situation. Those who do not need a place to stay can still utilize their counseling services, health screenings, and legal assistance offerings. Children are also welcome.
