Officers of the Accounting Society have the following responsibilities:
A. The President shall: 1. Preside at all society meetings; 2. Direct activities of the organization in conjunction with the faculty advisor(s); 3. Obtain facilities for business meetings and handle event forms; 4. Appoint standing and special committees and chairs; 5. Approve the minutes as recorded by the Secretary; 6. Sign all checks; 7. Attend all mandatory student orientations and meetings as required by UL Lafayette; 8. Handle all correspondence with members 9. Prepare agendas for each meeting B. The Vice-President shall: 1. Preside at all functions in the absence of the President; 2. Succeed to the office of President in the event of resignation, termination of membership, or death of the President 3. Sign checks in absence of the President 4. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor C. The Vice-President of Communications shall: 1. Coordinate speakers for the Accounting Society meetings 2. Obtain parking spaces for guest speakers 3. Send mass emails to members, newsletters 4. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor D. The Chair of Communications shall: 1. Support and coordinate with the Vice President of Communications 2. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor E. The Secretary shall: 1. Maintain minutes of all society and executive council meetings; 2. Provide a copy of the minutes of all meetings to the officers, faculty advisor and the head of the department within five (5) days of the meeting; 3. Maintain membership applications and an up-to-date list of members in the society; 4. Distribute points for events and meetings 5. Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the President F. The Treasurer shall: 1. Receive in conjunction with the Faculty Advisor all monies belonging to the society; 2. Keep an accurate account of all receipts and disbursements; 3. Fill out reimbursement forms and purchase requisitions as needed; 4. Deposit money into the bank account the day funds were received; 5. Safeguard checkbook; 6. Provide a full accounting of funds at each meeting; 7. Perform any and all duties assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor G. The Historian shall: 1. Obtain media releases; 2. Support and coordinate with the Vice-President of Communications 3. Take pictures at all society meetings and events 4. Perform any and all duties assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor H. The Webmaster shall: 1. Maintain and update the website 2. Perform any and all duties assigned by the President with consent of the faculty advisor |
