SymbolsThe badge of Alpha Omicron Pi is composed of the three initial letters of the three words of the Motto, superimposed one upon the next in order, which gives the Fraternity its name.
Alpha Omicron Pi has only one color, cardinal. It is the color of the Fraternity flower, the ruby and the ribbon sometimes worn under the badge to welcome a new collegiate chapter.
Alpha Omicron Pi has only one jewel, the ruby.
The Nineteenth Century French rose, General Jacqueminot, a deep red rose, was chosen as the flower of Alpha Omicron Pi because its color is the symbol of the central and essential virtue of the Fraternity.
The wheat indicates usefullness in its harvest. The binding together of the wheat into a sheaf gave Alpha Omicron Pi the new member pin, the name for the magazine, and the rings for the president and international president.
While not an official symbol, the Fraternity and our chapters consider the Panda to be its mascot.
About Us
Delta Beta Chapter was installed at the University of Louisiana in 1956. For over 50 years, Delta Betas have been working to improve their school and community.
On campus, Delta Beta AOII's are active in the Greek community and numerous school organizations such as the University Program Council, Student Orientation Staff, and Student Government Association (just to name a few). You'll find Delta Beta AOIIs everywhere from Homecoming floats to the Krewe of Roux!
Above all, Delta Beta AOII's have heart. We are active in our philanthropy, juvenile and adult arthritis research, through activities such as PANDAMONIUM (collecting stuffed panda toys for children in hospitals) and TRICK OR TREAT FOR ARTHRITIS!, our annual Halloween trick-or-treating event benefiting arthritis research. With our alumnae chapter, we support the RUBY FUND, supporting sisters in need.
Look for us on campus and around Lafayette!
Mission Statement
Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the fraternity and community.
Sisterhood
AOII provides an opportunity to have fun and enjoy all that the college experience has to offer. Good times are at the heart of each AOII chapters activities. From sharing laughter with sisters, to planning recruitment parties, to dancing at the Rose Ball Formal, membership in AOII is fun. Years later, when we think back on our collegiate experience, the moments that we remember most are the great times with the best of friends, our AOII sisters.
