Reminders:
You must submit your funding application to the GSO executive council no later than one calendar week before the meeting when it will be voted on. All applications must be complete at the time they are submitted.
Your departmental representative can submit your application for you, or you can submit it directly to the GSO president, Maria J. Rodriguez. She has a mailbox in the Biology Department.

  Full Amount ($400):
  The GSO funds travel to a conference to present a paper or a poster up to the full amount of the "Council Determined Limit" (currently $400) and research expenses incurred other than thesis or dissertation research provided that the results of this research will be published in a professional or scientific journal (proof of publication is necessary).The GSO funds to travel to an International conference to present a paper or poster is currently $500.
   
  Research Funding ($160):
  The GSO provides funding to help defray the cost of expenses directly related to thesis or dissertation research (supplies and travel). Currently the "Council Determined Limit" for these applications is $160. This funding can also be used for:
 
 1. Interlibrary loan costs (receipts required)
2. Project expenses incurred by students in non-thesis options (non-course work)
3. Expenses incurred while attending a conference in which the applicant has "duties."
   
  Thesis and Dissertation Costs ($100):
  The GSO considers applications for expenses directly related to printing a thesis or dissertation. Currently the "Council Determined Limit" for graduate students writing a masters thesis is $100. The "Council Determined Limit" for graduate students writing a dissertation is $100. These funds can only be applied for once during a graduate student's masters or doctoral program. These applications will not be considered until the last meeting of the semester, and only then after all applications for travel and research have been considered.
   
  Travel to a Conference Without Duties ($100):
  The GSO funds travel to a conference without academic "duties." Currently the "Council Determined Limit" for these applications is $100. These applications will not be considered until the last meeting of the semester, and only then after all other applications have been considered.
