Reminders:
All items or unused supplies purchased with research funds should be returned to your department when you graduate.
If you are planning to pay for your supplies with a university purchase requisition or a direct charge, you must include a quote from the vendor with your application. E-mail is acceptable.

A completed GSO application for Financial Support with:
 
° Your signature.
° The signature of your department head or graduate coordinator.
A letter addressed to the GSO council stating why you are applying for GSO funds. For an example letter, click here.
   
An itemized list of the items or supplies you wish to purchase. You can include this as part of your letter to the GSO council.
   
A letter of recommendation from your major advisor stating why the GSO should subsidize your research. This letter should also be addressed to the GSO council.
   
That you attend the GSO meeting at which your research application will be voted on, or arrange for a proxy to attend in your place.
   
     The following conditions may also apply to your application:
 
A completed university purchase requisition or direct charge if you wish the business office to order your supplies. Please be sure to include shipping and handling in the expenses you list.
   
A quote from the vendor from which you wish to purchase supplies, if you are planning on using a university purchase requisition or a direct charge form. E-mail is acceptable.
   
If you are applying to purchase books, video tapes, or any other form of media, you must prove that the university library does not have the item, or that you cannot obtain them through other means such as interlibrary loan.
   
If you are applying to use research funds for dissertation ($50) or thesis ($25) supplies, please be aware that you are only eligible to receive these funds once during the course of your degree.
