UL Lafayette Law Club


The Law Club represents the interests of students who are interested in pursuing a carrier in law. The Club takes it as its mission to educate its members concerning the various aspects of admission to law school, such as the Law School Admissions Test, the rigors of the law school experience itself and after graduation job opportunities. The Law club has recently eliminated dues paying requirements, which means that ANYONE can be a member. The Law club is open to ALL students of ALL majors. The Law Club prides itself on providing an excellent opportunity to build an ideal law school resume through community service and university participation.

    About the Legislative Committee and its Members:


    The Legislative Committee was formed and its members appionted by the President for the purpose of taking the Law Club to a New and Active Direction.To accomplish this task, the Committee had to revise and amend the Law Club Constitution. To add and reviseAmendments to the Constitution, each has to be passed by 2/3 vote of all membership. Thus, The Committee had thetask of formulating the language in order to obtain the desired results. Other tasks taken up by the committee includeorganizing participation in university and community events. The Legislative- Committee is the heart and sole of the Law Club and its reputation. The following are the Amendments the Committee is working on:

    1. [PASSED] Elimination of Dues-Paying Requirements to vote and run for office
    2. [PASSED] Equal Opportunity membership to ALL PERSONS!!
    3. [PASSED] Duties of the President which require him/her move the Club to perform 2 Community Service activities and 1 Fundraiser per-semester
    4. [IN FORMULATION STAGE] Articles of Presidential-Impeachment
