----PRESIDENT
----VICE PRESIDENT
----SECRETARY
----TREASURER
----PROJECT COORDINATOR
----HALL REPRESENTATIVES (one per hall)
With all of the new residence halls and changes taking place in on-campus housing, what better way to be front and center to it all in a leadership role than on the executive board of one of the fastest growing student organizations on campus. Even if you are not applying for a position, come to the meeting on the 18th and make sure that your voice is heard for who you would like to see in these positions.
If you have any questions, email RHA's current president, Jay Bell at jkb0549@louisiana.edu.
LIBRARY RAVE = FUN!
On the Monday evening of Finals week, an estimated 500 UL students took to the library not to study, but to Rave. That's right! A DJ set up at the end of the first floor hallway by Jazzman's and played techno & dubstep music for about 15 minutes, while students jumped, danced, and yelled in the dark with glowsticks.
Skeptics of the rave have asked, "Why have a rave at the library during finals week where students are studying? Won't this disrupt the students?" Students studying in the library were given prior notice of the rave over the intercom system and were given the opportuntiy to go to the 3rd floor of the library where the sound from the music and the students could not be heard. The truth is that this is a GREAT stress reliever when students need it most. Studies show that breaks in studying are imperative. What better way to break yourself away from the physics notes you've been staring at for 2 hours and give you a new perspective than to rave for 15 short minutes before you get back to hitting the books.
The event was planned by the Residence Hall Association in conjunction with three of the other largest student organizations on campus, University Program Council (UPC), Student Government Association (SGA), and Student Leadership Council (SLC). Be on the lookout for more Library Raves to come.

On Wednesday, November 16, McNaspy field saw over 500 students and over 30 gallons of paint collide for one of the most epic events in UL's history. Don't believe us? Click here and check out the pictures yourself.
When an event is this successful, we have got to do it again the next year, next time with more paint and a larger area to accommodate the hordes of students swarming the paint like zombies... not like the lifeless, lethargic Night of the Living Dead zombies, but like the 28 Days Later zombies, running, wild-eyed and crazed screaming...
"PAINT!!!!! GIVE US PAINT!!!!"
RHA & UPC Tailgating
Before Every Home Game - Cajun Field
This football season, RHA and UPC have teamed up to bring you the ultimate student tailgating experience on the student tailgating side on the South Endzone. Inside the white picket fences, you'll find top notch tailgating food (bugers, sausage, sweets, chips, etc.) enough to feed a small Cajun army prepared and served by Sodexho Dining Services. Next to the food area, there is a trailer equipped with TVs showing college football games. Washer toss, bag toss, horseshoes, Plinko, and other games are provided by RHA next to the trailer. Students are able to play and win prizes ranging from keychains to cushioned chairback bleacher seats.
For homecoming, RHA is taking tailgating up few notches. Look for bull riding all day outside of Cajun Field next to RHA & UPC's student tailgating area! Students with a valid UL Cajun Card ID are welcome to bull-ride with prizes going to the student who stays on for thelongest. See you out there and as always...
GEAUX CAJUNS!
RHA voted New Student Organization of the Year
At the 2nd Annual Ragin Recognition student organization award ceremony, the Residence Hall Association was recognized as the 2010-2011 New Student Organization of the Year. President, Justin Benoit; Vice President, Jay Bell; and Treasurer, Jarron Morris were representing RHA at the awards banquet to accept the award.
While the night undoubtedly belonged to SOUL camp, RHA was pleased to be recognized as the best new student organization in a year that saw the formation of more new student organizations in one year since the university's inception. The First annual Swampfest featuring Karma Protocol was the highlight accomplishment of the year and undoubtedly contributed to RHA's success. Plans are in the works to continue this success into the 2011-2012 year.
Swampfest 2011 feat. Karma Protocol
On Sunday, April 10, RHA put on the first annual Swampfest. Lafayette Alternative Rock artist Karma Protocol played a full set to about 200 on-campus residents in attendance near Guillory Hall. The success of this event, the first event of RHA's re-emergence on campus at UL, can only be attributed to student and departmental support across the board. Thanks to the generous and unexpecteddonations from the Departments of Student Life & Conduct, University Bookstore, Dining Services, and the Student Union, RHA was able to successfully execute what is hoped to be the first of many Swampfests to come.
The weather was a perfect 65 degrees and sunny. The food was set up on-time, delicious, and there was more than enough to go around. Students enjoyed the mechanical bull, jousting, and the mini-all stars games, rented from Special Ops Entertainment.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!!!! SEE YOU IN THE FALL!
