Any nursing major may join. Members are encouraged to attend the meetings but are not required. Students can join by filling out a form and dropping it in room 312-A of Wharton Hall on the main campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, or by giving the form to an ULSNA officer. Membership dues for new members are $40.00; this includes membership in ULSNA, Louisiana Association of Student Nurses (LASN) and National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). These dues pay for a one year membership; renewal membership is $50.00 and a two year membership is also available for $80.00.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Nurses Association is an association for all nursing students attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Our purpose is to represent UL Student Nurses in the community. Meetings are held once a month and everyone is invited to attend. The times and locations of the meeitngs vary so check the bulletin board for updated information. ULSNA strives to have a speaker/presenter at each meeting. The benefits of ULSNA are information about current nursing events, free pizza at the meetings, interesting speakers on a variety of topics, and many other great reasons (check us out to find out more). We often have nurses from different specialities speak at our meetings so that students can find out about these specialities. The benefits for LASN and NSNA are endless. They offer discount on insurance, credit cards, discounts on popular nursing magazines and most importantly they offer scholarships to current members.
