How do I Join?
- Attend an Interest session either October 11 or October 24 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in the Union Evangeline Room
- Submit your application no later than October 31. Sign up from an interview when you submit your application.
- Interviews will be conducted beginning October 22. The last day to be interviewed is November 7. Your application must be received before you can schedule an interview.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must
be a UL student in good standing (not on any type of University probation)
- Have
a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 when applying
- All applicants must earn at least a 2.0 for the fall 2007 semester to maintain membership in SOS
- All applicants must be enrolled full time at UL for both the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 semesters
- Be in Lafayette area for the summer of 2008 and be available for both week day and weekend SOS related activities
- Have excellent leadership and communication skills
General Responsibilities:
- Be a friendly, reliable, and knowledgeable resource for new and visiting students.
- Participate as an active member of one SOS Committee
- Be actively involved in all Freshmen and Transfer Orientation programs and University sponsored events.
- Work closely with other members of SOS and Orientation Director.
