Chef John Besh's visit to University cancelled

Update: Chef and restaurateur John Besh's visit to UL Lafayette at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, has been canceled due to forecasts of inclement weather.

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing and Hospitality is working to reschedule the event.

 

Notable chef and restaurateur John Besh will be on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus next week to talk about his career and latest cookbook.

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing and Hospitality will host Besh as part of its Louisiana Impact Series.

Besh hosts two national public television cooking shows based on his award-winning cookbooks. 

The John Besh Foundation was established in 2011 to help protect and preserve the culinary heritage of New Orleans via initiatives such as the Chefs Move! culinary school scholarship and microloans for local farmers.

An interactive presentation about Besh’s path to success will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the Student Union Ballroom. A book signing for his Cooking from the Heart will follow at 2:15 p.m. The cookbook covers the locations, lessons, and mentors that shaped his culinary journey.

This event is free and open to the public. Copies of Cooking from the Heart will be for sale for $40 the day of the event.
