Two faculty members from the College of the Arts will perform and lecture to music students at a university in China.

Dr. Yuling Huang-Davie, a pianist, and Dr. Andrea Loewy, a flutist, will travel to Liupanshui Normal University in southwestern China in May.

Last May, the pair performed selections from J.S. Bach, Robert Muczynski, and John Rutter during several concerts in the Chinese cities of Liupanshui, Guiyang, and Xining.

“Both perform at a high artistic level, and their performances in China attest to the respect they have garnered in the international arts community,” said Dr. Garth Alper, director of the School of Music and Performing Arts.

Huang-Davie and Loewy also visited China in 2007. They performed recitals and led master classes at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and the China Southern Technology University.
