Since
launching HICA, Dr. Caillouet has succeeded in attracting over two-and-a-half
million dollars ($2,502,868.36) in external funding from various governmental
and philanthropic agencies including the federal Health Resources and Services
Administration (HRSA), the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA), the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Rapides

currently managing) a total of twenty-seven (27) restricted-account contracted
research projects that have provided (or are providing) partial support for
twenty-three (23) different faculty members and for seventeen (17) different
graduate students in the role of research assistants. In addition, Dr. Caillouet was instrumental
in attracting one million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000.00) in
private donations which, when matched with eight hundred thousand dollars
($800,000.00) in Board of Regents Support Fund monies have led to the
establishment within HICA of two million-dollar chairs: the J. Robert Rivet MD / BORSF Eminent
Scholar Endowed Chair in Health Informatics and the Acadian Ambulance / BORSF
Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair in Telehealth.
Dr. Caillouet currently has several additional funding projects pending
