A mass communication major has been awarded a scholarship by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.

Karli Terrio, a junior from Reserve, La., was among 25 students from across the state who applied for the scholarship.

She was one of two students awarded scholarships at the association’s recent convention in New Orleans. Each will receive $1,000 per semester. She holds an internship at NASH-FM 99 in New Iberia, La., where she is featured during the country and western music radio station’s “Karli Mae in the Morning” segment.

Terrio was recognized during the association’s luncheon on March 21 in Baton Rouge.

The state broadcasting association was founded in 1947. It is dedicated to promoting the state’s broadcasting industry.
