Faculty members at the University have been recognized by the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the American Academy in Rome, to name a few.
The high caliber of our faculty and students has enabled the University to create multiple University research centers and institutes such as the Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning, Center for Ecology and Environmental Technology, Center for Visual and Decision Informatics, Energy Institute, and the Institute for Coastal Ecology and Engineering.
In addition, all of the colleges have research centers and laboratories including the Center for Advanced Computer Studies, the Community Design Workshop, the Center for Gifted Education, the Bioprocessing Research Laboratory, the Center for Louisiana Studies, and the Small Business Development Center.
