Guaranteed Admission

In-State Freshman Guaranteed Admission Criteria

If you are an in-state student applying for freshman admission, you must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:

  • Have a core grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

OR

  • Have an 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing+Math (ERW+M)

Additionally, first-time freshman applicants must meet each of the following:

  • Require NO remedial courses
  • Have at least 18 ACT English ACT or 500 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
    • If ACT English less than 18 or SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing less than 500, applicant must successfully complete remedial English no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation.

AND

  • Have at least 19 ACT Math or 510 SAT Math
    • If ACT Math less than 19 or SAT Math less than 510, applicant must successfully complete remedial math no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation.

AND

  • Complete the Louisiana Board of Regents high school Core 4 curriculum (19 units)

AND

  • Have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Out-of-State and Home Schooled Freshman Guaranteed Admission Criteria

If you are an out-of-state or home schooled student applying for freshman admission, you must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:

  • Successfully complete 17 out of 19 credits from the required Core 4 curriculum with a core grade point average of 2.5, AND have a 23 ACT Composite or 1130 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing+Math (ERW+M)

OR

  • Have at least a 26 ACT Composite or 1240 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing+Math (ERW+M)

OR

  • Meet the in-state student requirements above, including completing all 19 units of the Louisiana Board of Regents high school Core 4 curriculum

Additionally, first-time freshman applicants must meet each of the following:

  • Require NO remedial courses:
    • Have at least 18 ACT English ACT or 25 SAT Writing and Language
      • If ACT English less than 18 or SAT Writing and Language less than 25, applicant must successfully complete remedial English no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation.

AND

  • Have at least 19 ACT Math or 500 SAT Math
    • If ACT Math less than 19 or SAT Math less than 500, applicant must successfully complete remedial math no later than the summer semester immediately following high school graduation.

AND

  • Complete the Louisiana Board of Regents high school Core 4 curriculum (19 units)

AND

  • Have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
