Fans are the stars of a new commercial that promotes Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® football season tickets.

Enthusiastic volunteers from all walks of life perform the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s fight song during the 30-second spot. The commercial will air on local television and is posted on the Internet.

One recognizable face is Marc Broussard, a native singer and songwriter who has been featured on TV shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS’s Saturday Morning’s Second Cup Café. There’s also an appearance by Richard Baird, a 96-year-old who is a long-time Ragin’ Cajuns fan.

Football head coach Mark Hudspeth rounds out the cast, along with several football players who are sporting new Adidas uniforms.

Jones Communications and Vidox, two local firms, worked together to produce the project for the University.

“Along with the many friends of the University who appeared, Jones Communications and Vidox created a fun, lively spot,” said Aaron Martin, director of the Office of Communications and Marketing.

Rob Stewart, associate director of Athletics, predicts “an exciting season for football on and off the field considering the number of veterans on the team and all of the off-season upgrades that will enhance the fan experience at Cajun Field.”

The Ragin' Cajuns are the unanimous choice to repeat as champions of the 2014 Sun Belt Conference, according to a preseason poll of Sun Belt coaches.

About 7,000 seats have been added in the south end zone of the stadium. Other improvements include a new HD video scoreboard and fan amenities.

Prime midfield seats with complimentary chairbacks, in sections P and Q on the east side of Cajun Field, were announced as new season ticket options recently.

Also this year, fans who purchase season tickets can print them at home and will have mobile ticket access via smartphones.

Football season tickets are available at ragincajuns.com, by visiting the Cajundome Ticket Office or by calling (337) 265-2357.
