Four Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns alumni will be inducted into the UL Lafayette Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of the 2014 Homecoming football game against South Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 1.

They are: Michael Allen, basketball, 1991-1994; Steven Feehan, baseball,  1997-2000; Jill Robertson, softball, 2001-2005; and Matt Trevino, golf, 1995-1998.

The University’s Hall of Fame recognizes men and women who distinguished themselves as student-athletes and have made significant contributions to their professions and their communities. They are nominated and selected through a process that is overseen by the board of directors of Ragin' Cajuns Lettermen Club, an organization of former athletes who have lettered in their sport.

“Our goal is to remind each new generation of athletes of the tradition they must uphold and the ideals that they should strive for while they are wearing UL Lafayette uniforms,” said Tom Carroll, Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club president, who was a member of the University’s baseball team from 1971-1974.

The 2014 inductees will be honored by the University and the Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club at an invitation-only reception on Friday, Oct. 31, at the UL Lafayette Alumni Center.

Allen, a two-year letterman in basketball, was a first-team Sun Belt All-Conference selection in 1993 and in 1994. He became the first Ragin’ Cajun basketball player to be named Sun Belt Player of the Year in 1994.

His 1,673 career points are the eighth-highest total in school history. He had a brief professional career, and then became a high school basketball coach.

Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University in 1996. He is a youth service center coordinator for the Fayette County Public School System in Lexington, Ky.

Feehan, a four-year letterman in baseball, was selected to Sun Belt All-Conference and All-Louisiana teams during his collegiate career. He was an honorable mention All-American in 1999.

Feehan helped the Ragin’ Cajuns get to the College World Series in 2000, and was named to the All-World Series team. He holds school records for games played (236), games started (219), at bats (809), runs scored (201) and hits (250).

Feehan earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University in 2001. He works for the Lafayette Fire Department.

Jill Robertson, a four-year letterman in softball, was a three-time Sun Belt All-Conference first-team selection. She was the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2001.

Robertson had 216 hits, scored 208 runs and had 106 runs batted in and 50 stolen bases, to help her team achieve a 199-44 record during her collegiate career. She was named to the Verizon Academic All-District VI Second Team and the Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll.

Robertson earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University in 2005, and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Houston in 2008. She works for Stryker Corporation in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Trevino, a four-year letterman in golf, was a three-time Sun Belt All-Conference selection.  In 1996, he won the Louisiana State Amateur Championship.

He played a key role in helping his team to the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 1997. That same year, he placed second in the NCAA Regional Championships, earning a berth in the NCAA National Championships.

In 2006, he was named to the All-Time Sun Belt Conference Golf Team.
