Course prepares students to take state notary test

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will offer an intensive basic notary test preparation course beginning Jan. 20.

The course will prepare students for the state notary test and is taught twice each year at UL Lafayette through its Department of Marketing and Hospitality.

Students do not have to be seeking a degree to enroll in this course.

The class will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. It ends May 5, 2015.

Fred W. Davis, a visiting instructor of legal studies, will teach the course. He has been an attorney and notary for over 31 years. He is also the publisher of the “Pass My Notary” workbook.

Davis offers, at no extra cost, a review session for his students, a week before the Louisiana Notary Public Statewide Exam, which is set for June 6, 2015.
