Several bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette are among the nation’s most affordable, according to the online higher education resource AffordableSchools.net.

The website provides information for prospective college students about “affordable public schools and private schools with solid academic reputations,” according to AffordableSchools.net. It offers short profiles of colleges and universities, degree requirements, institutional data, and articles about topics such as financial aid and careers.

AffordableSchools.net has compiled Top 15 lists for a range of undergraduate degree programs. The rankings are based on yearly net price of attendance, as reported to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Three undergraduate programs at UL Lafayette earned high rankings from AffordableSchools.net in their respective categories. They are:

• the University’s architectural studies program, second;
• its public relations program, third; and,
• its hospitality management program, seventh.

According to the website, UL Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design’s accredited program “prepares students to become licensed architects,” who are capable of working in dozens of fields. They include building contractor, city manager, real estate broker and urban planner.

The Department of Communication’s public relations program “prepares students for such careers as being a fundraiser, events coordinator, political strategist, public affairs specialist, speechwriter, or tourism officer.”

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration’s bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in hospitality management, gives students the ability “to manage and promote all elements of the industry” with careers in entertainment, food service, lodging, tourism, and transportation.
