International First-Time Freshmen Applicants
Application Checklist
International first-time freshmen applicants must submit the following to be considered for admission to the university:

Application for admission (submitted through online application system);

Non-refundable application fee (payable through online application system);

You can apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with no application fee until Jan. 31. f you apply after Jan. 31, you will need to pay a $25 non-refundable application fee.

Chronological Record of Education detailing educational history and/or work history, if applicable;

Official or certified true copies of all secondary academic records, transcripts, notes, and/or mark sheets from foreign institutions and U.S. schools, if applicable;
- Certified translation required if original record not provided in English.

Official ACT or SAT score report (sent directly from testing agency);
- Applicants from countries where the ACT or SAT is not available or who are currently in Intensive English Programs in the U.S. will be required to take the residual ACT upon arrival on campus.

Official proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic scores sent directly from testing agency);
- Applicants who are from a country where English is the official language or have completed all high school coursework from a country where English is the official language do not need to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic scores to be considered for admission.
- COVID-19 Update: We are temporarily accepting Duolingo scores for for admissions purposes for Summer 2020/Fall 2020. For more information, contact intladmissions@louisiana.edu.
- Confidential Financial Guarantee and supporting bank statement verifying financial support for one year.
Admissions Requirements
International students are considered for guaranteed freshmen admission if they:

Have a high school GPA of at least 2.5 (converted to the U.S. scale)

Meet the minimum requirements for ACT OR SAT scores

ACT: 19 in Math and 18 in English
OR -
SAT: 510 in Math and 500 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing

ACT: 19 in Math and 18 in English

Meet the minimum requirements for English language proficiency (unless exempt from this requirement):

TOEFL: 70 (Internet-based test) or 523 (paper-based test)
OR -
IELTS: 6.0
OR -
PTE Academic: 50
OR -
ACT English: 18
OR - SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 500
