Kids 12 and under can enjoy Ragin’ Cajuns football for free on Friday. It’s all part of Take a Kid to the Game at Cajun Field.

The game, in association with the U.S. Marine Corps, will feature the Ragin’ Cajuns facing off against top 25 Oklahoma State University. Young fans under 12 years of age will be admitted free for general admission seating.

“ This is a great way to involve our young Ragin’ Cajuns fans,” said Senior Associate Athletic Director Scott Farmer. “The atmosphere at Cajun Field, beginning with our family-friendly tailgating, is just right for a Friday night college football game.”

This game will also showcase the Ragin’ Cajuns to a national television audience. ESPN2 will broadcast this game into 90 million homes and countless sports restaurants and is the only live football game being broadcast on Friday.

“ We want to show America just how unique Ragin’ Cajuns fans are,” added Farmer. “We are as unique as our culture and now we can show the entire country what it means to be a Ragin’ Cajun.”

Fans will receive McDonald’s Ragin’ Cajuns inflatable noisemakers at the gate, and in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Sun Belt Conference football, limited edition beads will be handed out at the gates.

Tailgating begins early and at 5:30 p.m. Festival Acadians will kick off at State Farm Gate A with the traditional boudin cutting and music from Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie. Cajun Field gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the kick-off is 8 p.m.

Local U.S. Marine recruits will be sworn in during half-time.
