Spring Gala Honoring Judice Inn Families

The UL Lafayette Alumni Association is fortunate to honor The Judice Inn Families as our fourteenth annual Spring Gala honorees. The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 17th from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will be held on the grounds of the UL Lafayette Alumni Center. Alcide and Pearl Judice and Marc and Gladys Judice and their descendants will be honored for their dedication to our community and faithful support of the university.

Alcide and Marc Judice returned to Lafayette after serving their country in the military during World War II. They each brought home the dream of a better life and, with the help of many family members, built the Judice Inn brick by brick with the aid of flashlights after their day jobs were complete. With the help and support of their wives, Pearl Cormier Judice and Gladys Bourque Judice, the two brothers opened the Judice Inn on April 5, 1947 to make their dreams a reality and a Lafayette tradition.

The restaurant has always been a family run business. Generations upon generation of the Judice families have maintained the integrity of the Judice Inn’s founders by concentrating on the best possible product and offering personalized customer service. Alcide and Marc provided each of their children (six and seven respectively) with a college education. This act of generosity has provided the growing city of Lafayette with a lawyer, doctor, banker, engineer, accountant, teacher, nurse, business administrator and other vocations – who have all have kept their roots in Acadiana and their support in this community.

The Spring Gala offers fine food, entertainment and both silent and live auctions that will include a variety of attractive offerings including original artwork, unique gift assortments, travel opportunities and Ragin’ Cajuns merchandise. Robbie Bush, president-elect of the UL Lafayette Alumni Association, serves as chair of the Spring Gala and Celeste Rushing, Alumni Council member, serves as Spring Gala auction chair.

Tickets are $200 per couple or $100 per individual. Sponsor tables may be purchased for $5,000 and Patron tables are available for $2,000. Cox Communications will be recognized as Presenting Sponsor, as they have generously partnered with us to be the 2009 – 2010 Platinum Alumni Sponsor. Proceeds from the evening are entirely dedicated to maintain and make improvements to the landmark Alumni Center, a building that we are proud to have as a focal point of the university. Since its inception in 1997, the event has become a highlight of the year and net proceeds have surpassed the $1,000,000 milestone.
