“Sociology looks at societies as a whole, and how people interact with one another in the communities they have created. I see my minor in gender and sexuality studies as a way to dive deeper and look at two minority groups that have grown stronger throughout our history by supporting others who have faced the same struggles.”

“Without teachers, you don’t have these other jobs, other occupations. I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life and I felt through teaching, that’s my way of changing the world and making my impact on the world.”

“I want to teach high school because a lot of the teachers I had in high school were people I needed at that time – and I wanted to be that for my students.”

“I was interested in health information management since I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare setting, but clinical care wasn’t for me. I love learning how to handle patient data and working with files and EHRs (electronic health records). I feel like I am actually going to make a difference in the business side of the medical field.”
