“The day I decided that interior design was where I wanted to be was the first time I actually felt excited for college.”

"The Department of Petroleum Engineering provides students with certifications that are needed to begin immediately working in the industry, exposing students to a variety of software applications that are used industry-wide, hands-on laboratories, and regular tours to rigs and other oil and gas-related facilities. I'm leaving the program with the skills and knowledge I need to have a successful career in oil and gas.”

“I was interested in health information management since I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare setting, but clinical care wasn’t for me. I love learning how to handle patient data and working with files and EHRs (electronic health records). I feel like I am actually going to make a difference in the business side of the medical field.”

“The dance program at UL Lafayette showed me there are a million opportunities for work in the field of dance outside of the realm of performance, including teaching, choreographing, arts administration, dance history, lighting, and costuming. UL Lafayette showed me how to find these opportunities, network, and market myself as a working professional in the field of dance no matter which avenue I decide on.”

"My favorite part of studying at UL Lafayette is the community of friends and classmates I’ve built since arriving here. Almost all math majors know each other and are friends. Additionally, I’ve been able to make friends beyond the walls of Maxim Doucet thanks to the minors I am pursuing.”

“I chose to study mechanical engineering because I enjoy problem-solving and helping people. Plus, I've always enjoyed building things and I have an aptitude for math. UL Lafayette’s engineering program really drew me in when I came to tour the University.”
